The community of artificial intelligence stakeholders in the territories for ecological transition

Resilient and sustainable buildings, territories, mobility, circular economy… Are you a local authority, a startup or an industrialist carrying an innovative AI project ?

Ecolab, the innovation laboratory of the Ministry of Ecological Transition and Territorial Cohesion, leads a community of AI actors in the territories for ecological transition, one of whose concrete objectives is to support and disseminate the solutions experimented with under the call for projects « Demonstrators of frugal AI for ecological transition in the territories ».

Ecolab aims to bring together the community of AI actors in the territories during various workshops organized every year, either in person or via webinars.

The goal of the community is to share best practices and feedback from AI projects serving ecological transition in the territories. It relies on a partnership between Ecolab and Les Interconnectés and Hub France IA to improve visibility among local authorities and the economic ecosystem.

The CAIAT white paper (Community of AI Actors in Territories) has been co-written and is offered to you by Ecolab, the Hub France IA and the Interconnectés. This white paper aims to facilitate the formation of consortiums and share best practices to ensure the proper implementation of a demonstrator. You can share your feedback and suggestions for the next version of the white paper by email to contact@hub-franceia.fr or ia.ecolab.sri.cgdd@developpement-durable.gouv.fr

Ecolab, Les Interconnectés and Hub France IA organized on April 4, 2024 a new in-person meeting of the Community of AI Actors in the territories. This meeting took place as part of the Interconnected Forum in Marseille, a national event bringing together local authorities around territorial digital challenges. The goal of this meeting was to share new feedback from projects that have already been carried out and ongoing and future initiatives regarding water management and adaptation to climate change.

On Thursday, February 8, 2024, an exchange day co-organized with Les Interconnectés between local authorities, businesses, public sector and researchers was held in La Défense to review the potential of AI in the field of ecological transition for the territories, exchange best practices and ongoing initiatives, and consider future uses of AI for environmental projects in the territories.

This document aims to provide an accessible summary of the exchanges that took place during this day to serve local authorities and all types of actors working on developing artificial intelligence for environmental projects in a territory.
