Adaptation: coastal territories are innovating!

The Waves of Change Forum x Greentech Decision Makers Meeting from June 3 to 5, 2024, in Biarritz!

The Waves of Change association, the Ecolab of the General Commission for Sustainable Development, and the City of Biarritz have jointly organized this event on the theme of coastal territories’ adaptation to climate change.

Event aimed at sustainable public and private purchasing, discover for instance the solutions from the award-winning Greentech Innovation companies and the companies participating in the Tideline startup challenge.

For private actors, this event is also an opportunity for business opportunities, exchanges between peers, and consultations with experts on topics related to their development.

Espace Bellevue, Biarritz

For public actors, it allows coastal communities and DROM-COM (Departments, Regions, and Overseas Communities) to:
– Discover best practices and feedback during inspiring interventions;
– Meet holders of innovative and sustainable projects, addressing risk prevention, biodiversity preservation, sustainable tourism, waste management, mobility, integrated coastal zone management, etc.

This event highlights companies that are part of the Waves of Change coalition, Greentech Innovation companies, as well as local companies (incubators from the Region, companies from the French Tech Pays Basque capital, or companies from competitiveness clusters and territories).

The Meetings of Greentech Decision Makers in Biarritz included:

:white_check_mark: More than 25 workshops, working sessions, round tables organized (workshops on co-management of protected marine areas, decarbonization of urban port platforms, etc.)!
:white_check_mark: Stands of Greentech companies featuring several demonstrators!
:white_check_mark: Throughout the event, a Tideline Startup Challenge led by @Waves of Change Coalition, which allowed startups to propose innovative solutions to the challenges faced by coastal cities and ports. Congratulations to all the winners!
:white_check_mark: An event in the retro-planning of UNOC 2025: organizing working sessions and multi-actor meetings on financing blue economy!
:white_check_mark: More than 400 business meetings accepted over 2 days of the event, including 117 between public and private actors!
