European, national and regional funding

On the afternoon of July 17, the Ministry provided startup training on accessing European, national, and regional funding at the Champs-Élysées incubator.

This training was provided by Céline Bonhomme, Deputy Director of Innovation at the CGDD (General Directorate of Development and Development), and Alain Griot, PIA Coordination Expert at the CGDD (General Directorate of Development and Development), also in collaboration with Matthias Bigorgne for the Life program.

European Funding

Céline Bonhomme gave a general presentation of the H2020 program, followed by more specific presentations on H2020 funding for SMEs. She then explained the success factors for SMEs in their participation in European calls for tenders and the evaluation criteria for submitted projects. Finally, although Matthias Bigorgne was unable to attend the incubator, he presented the support provided to applicants for the Life program, which focuses on the environment, and the specific support the Ministry provides to SMEs in this regard. In addition to presenting the various programs (H2020, Life, Eurostar, etc.), this training illustrated the importance of collaborations with companies from other European countries. It provided startups with the keys to understanding the programs to foster innovation, excellence, and project impact. It was observed that French companies apply less for European funding than their counterparts in other countries, even though the funds allocated are of an order of magnitude equivalent to those of the PIAs. GreenTech startups that have applied for these funds have often done so successfully. Other, more specific fundingOther, more specific innovation funding tools can be used, such as the “Action Cœur de Ville” fund launched by Jacques Mézard, Minister of Territorial Cohesion, and coordinated by the CGET (French Trade Union Confederation of Entrepreneurs) to revitalize city centers, with a budget of €1 billion per year over the next five years:
