Pandobac’s mission is to introduce a new operating model for the transportation of food goods, following a zero-waste approach that benefits all stakeholders in the distribution chain. Pandobac offers a turnkey service to replace the single-use packaging used to deliver fresh produce with a system of reusable, sustainable, and geolocatable containers. The disposable packaging targeted includes cardboard, wooden crates, polystyrene boxes, and plastic crates, which are currently used to transport food between food professionals (producers, farmers, fishermen, cooperatives, wholesalers, stores, markets, restaurants, etc.). In addition to reusable containers, the offer includes a container washing service, a web and mobile application for tracking containers, and a training and awareness program for various stakeholders (wholesalers, restaurants) on waste reduction through reuse. Pandobac has opened its first reusable container washing center in Rungis to facilitate the reuse of goods transport containers from wholesalers to retailers. Through this approach, Pandobac allows businesses to permanently eliminate their disposable packaging and also reduces resource consumption and waste production by reusing packaging in distribution.
