On Thursday, October 17, The AFNOR Members Club awarded the ECOLAB of the General Commissariat for Sustainable Development of the Ministries of Territories Ecology Housing as the Special Prize of the 2024 Gold Standards Trophies for contributing to the development of the AFNOR SPEC 2314 “General framework for frugal AI – Measuring and reducing the environmental impact of AI”.
This framework includes 31 best practices for combining artificial intelligence and ecological transition. AI is a lever for modernization and efficiency for public policies in favor of climate action but with a high CO2 impact, this guide provides an essential framework with solutions to ensure that AI is used in an environmentally friendly manner.
What are the Gold Standards Trophies?
It is a competition that rewards organizations that have successfully developed their activities, improved their organizational practices, or promoted their expertise internationally through voluntary standards. Six winners were awarded for having used voluntary standards in the development of their activities.
