Glasseo is the French specialist in the replacement of automotive glazing at home. Renowned among its clients (individuals and insurers) for its high level of quality service, Glasseo has chosen to equip itself with Kardinal’s algorithms to schedule and optimize the intervention routes of technicians.
Route optimization is a well-known issue for companies whose activities require them to travel to perform certain tasks, which can include package delivery, home visits, or maintenance interventions. In the case of Glasseo, which has a fleet of 60 workshops on wheels and performs more than 40,000 interventions per year, optimizing routes has become necessary to support the growth of the business, which has significantly increased in recent years.
Initially, the planning of routes was carried out by Glasseo’s teams manually and by using a geographical sectorization of the area to be covered. Luc Delbreil, manager and shareholder of the company explains: “With the growth of the business, the number of sites of the company has significantly increased. For a plateau operator, the expertise in planning interventions has become very complex to acquire. Some operators specialized in a geographical area but it was very difficult to upskill operators capable of mastering all our sectors.”

At the end of one year of use, the results are already evident, with significant performance gains during the company’s peak activity: Glasseo has been able to plan and execute a larger number of interventions per route and to reduce the number of kilometers traveled by its vehicles during its peak loads.
The sectorization by site no longer exists with the implementation of route optimization, allowing the solution to achieve a better distribution of the workload between the different sites of the company. “As soon as a site is overloaded, the Kardinal solution fills the nearest site. Previously, one could have a site completely overloaded while the one next door had absolutely nothing to do, leading to appointment refusals. Today, in a transparent manner for the operators, the workload is distributed.”, explains Luc Delbreil, manager and shareholder of Glasseo.
Intervention times have thus been reduced by an average of 12%, enabling the operators of the telephone platform to refuse fewer appointments and convert more calls than before.
These results, virtuous from a performance perspective for the company, are also beneficial for the environment: “The optimization of vehicle routes is one of the rare areas where, by nature, the economic challenges of companies converge with the common responsibility of reducing CO2 emissions. We have found at Glasseo a partner who fully subscribes to this vision and implements it daily in its activity”, concludes Cédric Hervet, Scientific Director and co-founder of Kardinal.
