Inauguration of the Greentech Living Lab of Orléans Métropole: A new impetus for public eco-innovation purchases!

On February 4, 2025, Orléans Métropole officially inaugurated its Greentech Living Lab, thereby committing to the approach driven by the Ecolab of CGDD, to promote public procurement of sustainable innovations in the territories! This project is located at the Agreen Lab’O Village by CA, a space now dedicated to supporting Greentech companies, driven by Orléans Métropole and Crédit Agricole, in partnership with the Technopole d’Orléans.

An inauguration that brought together more than 80 participants, marked by speeches from:

  • Thomas COTTINET, Director of Ecolab,
  • Pascal TEBIBEL, Vice-President of Orléans Métropole,
  • Claire-Lise HURLOT, General Director of Crédit Agricole Centre Loire,
  • Frédéric ROS, Director of the Technopole d’Orléans,
  • Guillaume VANNESTE, Director of Digital Loire Valley and La French Tech Val de Loire.

Participants were also able to attend 2 round tables highlighting the feedback from the Greentech Living Lab of Paris Est Marne & Bois, the opportunities for the territory, as well as presenting Orléans Métropole’s purchasing and experimentation policy to promote the purchase of eco-innovative solutions!

Participants had the opportunity to discover the political ambitions of the territory regarding sustainable development (in areas as varied as waste management, green spaces, mobility, water and sanitation…), but also ways to connect with the services!

The afternoon concluded with pitches from about ten companies based at Lab’O or Agreen Lab’O Village by CA, providing a concrete overview of possible collaborations, followed by a networking cocktail moment among participants!

A promising collaboration between the State and a local authority, to strengthen public/private links!
This Greentech Living Lab aims to bring together local public actors and eco-innovative companies, facilitate monitoring and sourcing of companies for nearby local authorities and stimulate public procurement of sustainable innovations.
It offers a framework of trust for public buyers to experiment with eco-innovative solutions and challenge companies regarding the territory’s needs. It is also a great tool for sustainable economic development by supporting impact-driven companies of general interest!

This event marks the beginning of a beautiful local dynamic and announces great public/private collaborations for the years to come!
