The success story of the start-up BIOMAE, which is reaching a new milestone

BIOMAE, the leading French player in “Biomonitoring of water and aquatic environments,” is joining forces with CARSO, the French leader in aquatic analytical services.

BIOMAE is a company specializing in the biomonitoring of aquatic environments using gammarids (or shrimp) and certified Greentech Innovation by the Ministry of Ecological Transition in 2018. Since its creation in 2014, this spin-off from the public research institute INRAE has continued to grow and established itself as a leader in its market. Since its creation in June 2014, BIOMAE has won numerous competitions, including the Tremplin Entreprise (Business Springboard) organized by the Senate in 2015 and the ADEME (Future Investment Program: “Water and Biodiversity”) in 2017. With the support of Greentech Innovation from the Ministry of Ecological Transition, as well as its long-standing financial investors (KREAXI, Pertinence Invest, and Alpes Capital Innovation) and public financiers (BPI France, the Rhône-Alpes region, and the Ain Department), BIOMAE has been able to grow smoothly and collaborate with key stakeholders: VEOLIA, Sanofi, the Béziers metropolitan area, Vendée-Eau, the SIAAP (Swiss National Water Agency), the six Water Agencies, and many others. BIOMAE posted a 20% revenue growth for 2020, despite a difficult year. To secure its future and accelerate its development, BIOMAE has chosen to partner with the CARSO Group, a French leader in water analysis. This acquisition by CARSO is a major step forward for BIOMAE and will enable it to consolidate the success of its biomonitoring solutions: a new chapter is being written for this leader in aquatic environment biomonitoring. cARSO
