The startup TRIAKAZ was awarded the GreenTech Verte label in May 2019. It joined the latest round of calls for expressions of interest, organized twice a year by the Ministry of Ecological and Inclusive Transition. TRIAKAZ is the first overseas startup to be awarded this label for its environmental and innovative approach.

Claudy Lombion has been committed to the fight against climate change for nearly twenty years, with island territories such as the Guadeloupe Archipelago being the first to be impacted. An engineer by training, she wanted to expand beyond the research sector and founded TRIAKAZ in 2016 to pursue her work in sustainable development and waste recovery. Since then, Claudy Lombion has developed a range of eco-designed products available on an online platform www.triakaz.com as well as in a physical eco-store, La Boutique du Tri, based in Baie-Mahault, Guadeloupe. Subsequently, she implemented local awareness-raising programs such as “zero-waste” breakfasts called “DIDIKO” (a traditional local meal), in partnership with the Agglomeration of Nord-Grande-Terre (CANGT) and the DEAL of Guadeloupe, to raise awareness among businesses about Industrial and Territorial Ecology (EIT) in rural areas, and a departmental “Everyday Heroes” competition, in partnership with the Guadeloupe Education Authority, aimed at primary, middle, and high school students.

The latest product developed by TRIAKAZ is the smartphone and tablet game “BeeBee World,” available on Android and the Apple Store. The goal is to align three pieces of waste that go into the same recycling bin so that they disappear from the game grid, with each type of bin being represented by a color (yellow, green, brown, etc.). Claudy Lombion’s goal here is to encourage players to properly sort their household waste. For her, “an action repeated daily by billions of individuals can lead to global change.”

Today, “BeeBee World” has been downloaded more than 2,000 times, more than half of which are in China, India, and Japan. Claudy Lombion anticipates expanding into these markets by having the game translated into English and Mandarin. With the GreenTech Verte certification, she hopes to gain greater visibility in mainland France. François de Rugy, Minister of State for Ecological and Inclusive Transition, is sensitive to the challenges associated with developing environmentally friendly behavior. During the Greentech Green MeetUp on June 4, 2019, he held a lengthy discussion with the Director of TRIAKAZ.
