Consultation on the French energy and climate strategy

Consultation Procedures

The Ministry for Ecological Transition (MTE) launched a public consultation on the major challenges of the low-carbon transition from November 2, 2021, to February 15. The contributions received through this consultation will contribute to the ongoing technical work through the working groups of the French Low-Carbon Strategy (SFBC) and the workshops of the Multi-Year Energy Program (PPE).

The 12 themes submitted for consultation

1. What balance should be struck between the use of energy efficiency and new technologies?
2. What conditions for a true low-carbon culture?
3. Economic sovereignty and international trade in the transition: what balance?
4. What support should be provided to households, businesses, employees, and local authorities for a just transition?
5. What balance should be found between the various public policy tools in the fight against climate change?
6. How can mitigation efforts be better integrated into local policies? 7. What is the distribution by sector (construction, transport, agriculture, waste, industry, energy production and transformation) of the additional effort to raise the 2030 climate target?
8. How can we reduce transport emissions?
9. What developments will there be for the construction sector?
10. What kind of agriculture will there be in a low-carbon future?
11. What role do forests and wood products play in the national climate strategy?
12. How can we organize the end of fossil fuels by 2050?
