I’m Laurent Bernard, co-founder of the startup Ecojoko. We offer a connected assistant to reduce electricity waste in homes. Laurent Bernard (2)For those who don’t know you, can you explain how your service directly aligns with the Ministry’s public policies? Our solution helps reduce electricity waste in France. In fact, we all waste 25% of our electricity at home because electricity is invisible: appliances are poorly adjusted, malfunction, or are misused without our knowledge. This represents €300 per household every year and a total of €8 billion wasted. This is absurd from both an ecological and economic perspective. We’re now distributed by Nature & Découvertes and are increasingly being distributed by energy efficiency companies because they see it as an ideal complement to helping individuals reduce their consumption alongside new insulation, a new heat pump, the installation of solar panels, etc. Fabien Berlioz and Laurent Bernard, co-founders
Our challenge is to continue improving our product in line with our users’ requests to make it ever simpler and more efficient, while significantly increasing our growth. Our ambition is to equip 5% of French households with this product to shut down the equivalent of the output of the last four coal-fired power plants in France.
How have you adapted to the current economic and health crisis? We’ve, of course, organized the vast majority of our activities remotely, and are focusing our efforts on the least affected sectors: e-commerce and our installation partners in particular. FOLLOW ECOJOKO on social media!
