On Friday, February 26, Paris Est Marne & Bois welcomed the Korean delegation from the Seoul Digital Foundation at the Greentech Living-Lab, managed by the Ecolab teams of the General Commissariat for Sustainable Development. Yo-Sik Kang, president of the structure, and Boris Kim, traveled to Paris to discuss their partnership with PEMB. The visit focused on the smart and sustainable city.

The sequence began with an opening speech from Yo-Sik Kang; Fréderic Michot, Deputy Municipal Councillor in charge of supporting the Local Economy, Employment, and Businesses; and Gerald Delmas, President of the Val-de-Marne Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Symbolically, the different stakeholders ratified their partnership with a signature, and then shared a glass of friendship around a buffet on the rooftop.

Afterwards, the participants gathered in a room of the Greentech Living-Lab to attend the presentation of Ecolab and its missions by Thomas Cottinet. The innovation laboratory within the research and innovation service of the CGDD, Ecolab works for ecological transition through two fronts. The first aims to promote innovation for the ecological transition of French start-ups through initiatives like the Greentech Innovation label, support for these start-ups, and the Greentech Living-Lab service. On the other hand, the laboratory carries the policy of the ministry’s data administration and, by extension, the use of data for the benefit of public policies concerning ecological and energy transition as well as territorial cohesion. Ecolab is also responsible for the AI and Ecological Transition roadmap.

This was followed by the presentation of UNICO, a Greentech Innovation certified start-up, by Jules Grammont. The certified start-up, which previously benefited from the services of the Greentech Living-Lab, has since established itself as the leading provider of business software for waste management.

Next, the start-up WaltR, also Greentech Innovation certified, represented by Lorenzo Constantino and currently hosted at the Greentech Living-Lab, had the opportunity to present its services to the Seoul Digital Foundation. It provides an innovative solution that uses optical sensors to gain a more nuanced understanding of atmospheric pollution. Their technology allows for real-time, high-resolution data collection in urban and peri-urban areas.

We are certain that these exchanges will enrich the partnership between the PEMB and Seoul territories. With the certainty that, thanks to this partnership, French companies innovating for ecological transition within the Greentech Living-Lab will shine internationally!
